Does the library have English classes (ESOL)?

Yes!  Queens Public Library offers several types of in-person and virtual Free ESOL Classes.

ESOL Program (New Americans Program) 

  •  Fall Registration for 2024
  • In Person class at Community Libraries and returning students must bring their registration card with post test scores.
  • Virtual classe  (one class) and only up to 25 students will be registered.

Learn English at an Adult Learning Center

  • Our Adult Learning Centers offer virtual beginner, intermediate, and advanced ESOL classes for both everyday life and work
  • Four semesters of classes are held throughout the year with registration in July, September, January, and April
  • Please complete this form to learn more.

The Learn English for Work ESOL courses will help customers build the language skills they need to have a successful career.  Fill out the form on the Learn English for Work page for that program.


Additionally, we have books, audio materials, smartphone apps, and online learning to help English Language Learners practice English. Please visit the nearest Adult Learning Center to register for these tools and get help using them.

 

Finally, if you can't register for a class at a Queens Public Library location, other organizations in Queens also offer ESOL classes.
