I live out of state, but want access to eBooks. Do you offer a non-resident card?

Answer

Yes. For an annual fee of $50 all Non-NYS Residents (including International users) can purchase a Queens Public Library account. Your QPL account is your passport to educational and recreational resources that the library has to offer. With your new card you will have access to our Research Databases, E-Journals, Digital Media and Downloads.

Simply click "Get a Card" at the top of our website.  Fill out the requested information.  Answer "No" to the Question: Do you live, work, go to school, or own property in New York State?  Complete the rest of the form.

The final step is to pay the $50.00. You will be able to pay online by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover Card). Once your payment has been submitted successfully, you will receive an email notification with your library account number and PIN. [If you don't receive the email, please check your junk/spam folder.]

  • If you wish to cancel your non-resident card, fill out this form and someone will get back to you.
  • If your eCard has expired or will be expiring soon, follow the instructions below:
  1. Log into your account and click on the My Account tab
  2. Click on the View Account Overview link
  3. Click on Edit Account.
  4. The link "Renew Library Card" should appear 30 days before expiration.
  5. Click on the "Renew Library Card" link to proceed.
