Does the library offer proctoring?

I need a proctor for my exam.

Answer

Queens Library only offers proctoring for the Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate.  Proctored examinations for this Certificate are available on a recurring basis at our six Adult Learning Centersthe Central Library, and the Queensbridge Tech Lab.

For other proctoring services, we suggest checking the Consortium of College Testing Centers, which makes test administration services available to students at educational institutions away from their campuses. The consortium has several test centers in Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island. Some also provide proctoring for occupational tests.  Most of these centers charge for proctoring.

The New York Public Library's Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL), located in Manhattan, offers FREE exam proctoring.  Exams they proctor include those for colleges and universities, organizations, and employers. Types of exams include real estate exams, certification exams (such as GIA), and other online exams. They proctor on Monday through Thursday at 1 pm.  Due to the large number of requests, try to give at least a few weeks notice.  Please email snflproctor@nypl.org to inquire about availability and scheduling.  NYPL, SNFL, 455 5th Ave. (corner of 40th Street), New York, NY 10016.
