What's the difference between a regular library card and an eCard?

Apply for an eCard online and gain access to all of our digital materials. In addition, with your eCard, you can Request books and other items for pickup at one of our Open Branches.
However, to Borrow physical materials, you will still need a regular library card. We recommend that if you plan to get a regular card, you first sign up for an eCard so your information will be in our system. This will make getting the regular card at a branch faster and easier.
Bring your photo ID and proof of your current address to one of the Open Branches and show them to our staff at the counter through the Plexiglass. They will issue a new card to you, or renew an expired card.
For those who don't live, work, go to school, or own property in New York State, you can sign up for a Non-Resident card.
